The easy answer is charity, but the fun answer is want to see what you can do with paper and tape. We know how difficult it is to crease the paper in just the right way, to hide the tape so it appears as if the paper is embracing the present lovingly and without assistance, to tie the bow then… what do you call it?… “Poof” it out (we’ll go with that) in just the right way. We know these things because in the beginning we sucked at gift wrapping. This is part of why we offered it for free. I mean, yeah, it might have taken us a solid 20 minutes to wrap a box with a t-shirt in it, but at least you didn’t have to pay for it. Well guess what Louisville, we’ve improved. We pre-wrap box lids, that’s right… pre-wrap in different paper colors. It’s cute - real cute. We're so good, we'll wrap any gift from ANY STORE just to show off.
We got this wrapping thing down to a science, but what comes with great success? Great challenges. We simply do not have enough hands to keep up with demand for the holiday season. That’s why we’re asking you crafty, talented, ninja skilled gift wrappers out there to show off your bad self. Also, we just like hanging out with you.
Gift wrapping is still free, but we are accepting tips this time around that we can donate to Kentucky School for the Blind on Frankfort Avenue. They rock by the way. And you, fair gift wrapper, will receive 20% off during your wrapping shift. That’s discounted, locally made presents for all your kith and kin, PLUS you do something good for charity, PLUS you get to hang out with the 5-0-Lou family. And we mean family ‘cause we’re like all related and there’s babies and dogs running everywhere. Save the Kentucky jokes people.
This is our second Christmas shopping season and we’re rockin’ it and the first time we’ve done the gift wrapping charity thing. We think it’s a swell idea, but we need you to make it successful. Give us a shout out with your availability at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get this ball rolling, wrapped… in any case the ball will be in play.
